Brian has had a varied career working in the Private, Public and Third sectors.
A qualified Mechanical Engineer, he worked for some years in the oil industry. His last positions with ExxonMobil were as General Manager for Lubricants and Allied Products UK, and Managing Director Mobil Eire. He also managed Mobil export activities to Israel and Iceland.
In the public sector he has chaired an NHS Trust and served as a non-executive NHS Director. He was also Director of a National Programme to develop equality and diversity in the NHS.
In the Third Sector he has worked locally as a chair of school governors and chair of Crossroads, an organisation that supports people caring for those with disabilities. He has been a Board member of Mercury Theatre Colchester and also of Business in the Arts East.
For the past eight years he has worked with ecdp in various capacities, to support independent living for disabled people. Most recently he was Honorary Treasurer.

Brian’s main hobby is woodwork where he makes everything that his mind turns to.This means furniture to small picture clocks. He also makes bread, as ecdp/Purple people can testify. They have been subjected to quite a few experiments over the years.
